The Diocese of Norwich
The Parish of Holt with High Kelling is part of the The Church of England Diocese of Norwich which serves and supports churches, schools and communities across the areas of Norfolk and Waveney.
We are also part of the Deanery of Holt.
The Rt Revd Graham James, the Bishop of Norwich, serves the Diocese with the aid of the Suffragan Bishops of Kings Lynn, The Rt Revd Jonathan Meyrick and of Thetford, The Rt Revd Dr Alan Winton; also the Archdeacon of Lynn, The Venerable John Ashe.
Throughout the Diocese are hundreds of stunning, historic church buildings – around 650 in all – which are actively used for worship. The Diocese provides support to those caring for them and creating welcoming spaces, and preserving each one for future generations. It also provides training and support for those serving in churches – from vicars to volunteers.
The Diocese works in many areas to strengthen the community and share the message of Christ.

St. Church of St. Andrew the Apostle is part of the Deanery of Holt which comprises 39 churches in Holt and the surrounding villages. Many of them were built on the proceeds of the mediaeval wool trade and are well worth a visit.
The Deanery Synod is a group of clergy and lay people which meets at regular intervals to discuss matters which affect the Church, both at local and national level.
Deanery Synod Representatives
The Deanery Synod is part of the Synodical Government of the Church of England. Representatives are elected to represent the parish at the twice-yearly Synod meetings. The meetings are open to other church members wishing to attend.
