Relationships with other Christian denominations

Ecumenical relationships

Each year we join together with members of Holt Methodist Church for united acts of worship and witness, particularly during the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity, Christian Aid Week, the Good Friday Procession, the Remembrance Service and Christmas Carol Service. The leaders of the churches meet to pray together and to plan ecumenical events.

A Roman Catholic Mass is held in Holt Parish Church on Thursday mornings at 9.30 for members of St Joseph’s RC Church, Sheringham.

Charitable Support

Collections are made in church for emergency appeals and worldwide needs as and when necessary and the following charities are supported:

Christian Aid works to bring an end to poverty around the world – tackling its root causes as well as its effects. Each year we actively support Christian Aid Week.

Let The Children Live responds to the needs of street children in Colombia and beyond. Our support helps safeguard the lives of children from violence and poverty, aimed at giving them love, education and a future.

Us (formerly USPG) is a church-based charity working in direct partnership with people and communities around the world. The aim of Us is, ‘Every person. Every community. A full life.’  Our involvement helps support St Anne’s Hospital, in Nkhotakota, on the shores of Lake Malawi (Diocese of Northern Malawi), which serves a rural population of 230,000.

Children’s Society An active group of fund-raisers works hard to support the work of the Children’s Society. The Society works to support families and children in some of the country’s most deprived and isolated communities.
