Activities

Anointing and Healing

The Rector is available to administer the Sacrament of Anointing and Laying on of hands for healing. This can take place in hospital, in church or in the person’s home.

Bell-Ringing

The church bells are rung at 9.45am by a team of bell-ringers for the Parish Eucharist every Sunday morning.

The bells may be rung at other times by arrangement or for celebration. Bell-ringing practice is on Friday evenings at 7.45pm - 9.00pm.

Bible/Fellowship Study Groups

Anyone wishing to further their knowledge of the bible can join this teaching group. Meeting in peoples' homes on the 4th Monday of every month following the 6.30pm Eucharist.

Alternatively, a fellowship group meets on the 1st Thursday of each month following the 10.00am Eucharist at All Saints.

Choir

The robed choir sing at the 10.30am parish Eucharist on the 2nd and 4th Sundays of the month. They also sing at festival services and occasional weddings.

Choir practice is every Wednesday evening at 7.30pm. New members are always welcome.

Home Communion

Taken from the reserved Sacrament can be taken to the sick and housebound. There is a team, comprised of the Rector, a number of retired clergy and a group of lay people.

The lay people have been licenced by the Bishop of Norwich to administer the Holy Sacrament. Anyone wishing to receive Communion in their own home or Residential Care Home should contact Fr Howard Stoker.

Junior Church

For Children aged 7 - 11 years. Meets every Thursday in Term Time
6.00 pm - 7.00 pm in the Church Hall

Lent Courses

Lent talks take place on 4 weeks during Lent. Also during Lent, groups meet for teaching and discussion and are held in various homes in the parish.

Ministry Group

This is concerned with the ministry and mission of the church. Meetings occur once every three months to monitor the services, initiate courses, retreats, pilgrimages, study groups, talks and outreach.

Out and About

Out and About organises outings for people who are either confined to the town of Holt, have mobility issues or are simply looking for friendship and fellowship.

Parish Holiday

Is to be an Annual Event in the autumn of each year.

Parish Retreat

Is held each year for 2/3 days during Lent.

Parish Visitors

A group of people who assist the clergy by visiting around the parish.

These are organised every two months, generally on a Sunday afternoon.

Prayer Group

A Julian of Norwich contemplative prayer group meets for an hour on the 1st Tuesday of the month at 10.15am.

Sacrament of Reconciliation

Confession, is available by appointment with the Rector, Fr Howard Stoker.

St Andrew’s Entertainment

Regular events are staged throughout the year. St Andrew’s Film Club and performances by outside organisations, lunches, etc.

St Andrew’s 150 Club

This can be joined at £12 per year.

Tea Service

A short informal act of worship with many favourite hymns in the Church Hall at 2.30 pm every 2nd Tuesday of the Month, followed by tea and fellowship up till 4.00 pm
