St Andrew's Youth Pilgrimage to Walsingham
At the beginning of August a few of our older children enjoyed the five-day youth pilgrimage to Walsingham.

This annual event has grown each year so that now over 600 young people aged 11 – 18yrs old from all over the country pitch camp on the edge of the village. In one large tented village there were over 800 people on site and a small group from Holt was privileged to be part of it. There was even a mitre or two to be seen, with two of the Bishops present coming from Ghana and the island of St Helena.
Over the five days we experienced worship and teaching that was imaginative, electric, inspiring, challenging, and loud!

On Tuesday evening everyone took part in a silent, candle-lit procession into the village and into the shrine grounds. It was both powerful and prayerful, as indeed was the service on Wednesday evening in which many young people were involved in an all night prayer vigil.

There was also time for recreation and a good time was had on the beach at Wells, and in the many activities provided on site. The disco’s and karaoke were memorable.
Young St Andrews Fun Day Out
On Saturday in Summer 2009, the members of St Andrews Junior Church
plus
Leaders including Fr Howard and Fr Philip, set off to see the seals and land
on Blakeney Point.
On their return to Morston, there was time to catch some crabs using string, a heavy stone and bacon- about 20 went into the bucket , to be released as we left.

Then off to Natural Surroundings to see the contents of their moth trap
and
try our hand at river dipping-catching shrimps and sticklebacks.
We ended
the day with games and a BBQ at the home of long time
friends of Junior
Church -Wendy and Alistair Baron at Stone Lodge
Lower Bodham. We were
blessed with a perfect day. Thanks to all
who helped.
